Power tools are much faster and more efficient than normal hand tools as they are powered by an electric motor, a compressed air motor, or a gasoline engine. There are the stationary power tools and the portable or hand held power tools which are used for cutting, shaping, drilling, sanding, painting, grinding, and polishing. Some power tools which are very commonly used are drills, saws, routers, and the lathe. However, sometimes, the power tools can be slightly cumbersome, especially when they are required to be plugged into an outlet.
